EMEA Knowledge Fest 2020

The college library organized a two day intercollegiate Knowledge Fest on 17th and 18th February 2020. The Knowledge Fest was inaugurated by the M.P. Abdussamad Samadani (Ex.M.P & Ex.M.L.A) followed by an interactive session on contemporary aspects of campus politics by V.T. Balram (M.L.A). The famous poets Kalpetta Narayanan Mash and Beerankutty in the session ‘Kavithayude Campus Idangal’ provided an intensive interpretation of their poems, and provided the symbolic understanding of the words, phrases, and images presented in their poem. Media seminar was organised as part of the EKF that covered the current issues of Indian politics. Eminent personalities including KEN Kunhahammed, renoved writer and cultural critic and Abhilash Mohan, Visual media Journalist gave their views and interacted with the student community. Kamarudheen Parappil, Asst. Professor, Farook College moderated the session.Afternoon session was started with ‘Sheetal Shyam’, a popular transgender activist and actress. She explored her real experience in arriving at the gender identity and analysed their gender rights and gender inequalities in the present scenario.    The next session ‘Pennidam’ addressed the womens’s issues, Gender equalty and women empowerment which have been an issue of immense discussions and contemplation over the last few decades. The session was excellently handled by Shahina Mol (Asst. Prof, Unity Womens College) and Shahina Rafeeq (Writer and Social Activist).
